The Mac community has been greatly supportive of The Restaurant Game research project at the MIT Media Lab. As a show of gratitude, we have released Version 1.9 as a Universal Binary, allowing Intel Mac users to participate for the first time. There are also bug fixes and lighting improvements on all platforms.
To date, over 4,200 people have logged in, and we have collected data from 3,946 games. If everyone who reads this plays a couple times, we'll hit our goal of 10,000 games in no time!
If you would like to help raise awareness of this project, please click the Digg and Delicious links at the top of the project page: http://theRestaurantGame.net
And share the Trailer Video on YouTube.
Thanks to everyone who has supported this project!

Will you be discontinuing the game after you get 10,000 plays? I hope not... :P
Posted by: Abeg92 at June 10, 2007 05:36 PMGood question!
No, we will not discontinue the game after collecting 10,000 gameplay sessions. That is simply a goal to shoot for. We will continue to run the servers as long as people continue to play. And we will incorporate new data as we release updated versions of the new game.
It looks like your plays may have dried up. I'd hate to see this project die due to lack of interest, so could you please consider continuing the multiplayer version but releasing the first singleplayer version sooner, such as at 5000 plays? Perhaps you could could get more people to play the multiplayer version if there's a singleplayer version that clearly states that playing the multiplayer version will ultimately improve the singleplayer version's AI.

Posted by: alexjc at June 14, 2007 09:01 AMBiggerJ, I agree that releasing a single player version would help motivate the multiplayer. I will definitely release the single player version as soon as possible, but it will be a while until it's ready. As soon as it is ready, you'll hear it here.
