A very good entry into this competition! From what I understand, this challenger and one other look to be leading the entries so far. However, the levels themselves seem to be generated with some degree of simplicity. To me it seems that the measure of success in this competition is consistency; the slightest error in an action executed will probably decide a winner after a significant length of time. While this is fine for the first competition (we need to gauge the skill of these programs), the "holy grail" in my mind is for a program to be able to solve this type of Mario game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvY1MNF26-w
